Lananna, Tegen named Coaches of Year for Division I cross countryPublished by

NEW ORLEANS - Pacific-10 Conference rivals Vin Lananna and Peter Tegen are the Bill Dellinger Men's and Peter Tegen Women's Division I Cross Country Coaches of the Year after leading their teams to NCAA team titles, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today. The USTFCCCA names its national coach-of-the-year awards in honor of Dellinger, the legendary University of Oregon men's coach, and Tegen, the longtime Wisconsin coach who has now led Stanford to three straight NCAA women's titles. For the second straight year, Tegen is the recipient of the award named in his honor. Stanford won the women's title at Monday's NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., scoring 145 points to finish 32 points in front of runner-up Oregon.
