Nick Symmonds - Different Expectations and Race Tactics

Filmed on 6/20/07 - Indianapolis, IN - We caught up with Nick Symmonds prior to the 2007 USA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Indianapolis. Nick discusses how expectations have changed regarding his racing and how de reacts to different scenarios he encounters during races. Symmonds has busted out onto the national scene in the last year following a legendary career at division III school Willamette University in Salem, OR. Departing with seven national titles in the 1500 and 800 he powered his way to a runner-up finish at the 2006 USA Track and Field National Championship in the 800. Symmond's other breaking out moment occurred at the 2007 Prefontaine Classic track meet in Eugene, OR with an epic win in his PR of 1:44.54 in the 800. The Boise, ID native now lives in Eugene and trains with the Oregon Track Club Elite Team under the guidance of legendary coach Frank Gagliano. Interview by Ross Krempley and Kevin Ullman
