Frenchwoman Ghezielle tests positive for EPO - L'Equipe | ReutersPublished by
PARIS, March 27 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:
* Frenchwoman Bouchra Ghezielle, who won the 1,500 metres bronze medal at the 2005 world athletics championships in Helsinki, has tested positive for the banned blood-booster erythropoietin (EPO), French sports daily L'Equipe reported.
The newspaper said traces of EPO were found following a random test in Franconville, France. No date was given.
* Spain's Anti-violence Commission has recommended the Real Betis fan who threw a bottle of water into the face of Athletic Bilbao keeper Armando receives a fine of 10,000 euros ($15,780) and is banned from entering a football stadium for two years.
