Savannah Sutherland won her first professional race on Sunday at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational with a time of 50.62 seconds in the 400 meters on Sunday at Foote Field.
Rachel Richeson of the U.S. threw a world qualifying standard mark of 77.81m (255-3) to win the women's hammer competition at the Edmonton Athletics Invitational. Richeson's mark was the best ever on Canadian soil.
