UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Due to the unpredictable nature of Spring weather in the Northeast, the Penn State Track and Field teams have opted to cancel the 39th Annual Jim Thorpe Invitational, which was originally slated for Saturday, March 29, 2008. The Lions will now train through the weekend before opening up the outdoor season, next weekend at the Pepsi Team Challenge at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Both Nittany Lion squads are coming off outstanding indoor seasons, where the Penn State women took third at the Big Ten Championships, and the men finished a fourth in the team standings - the best finish in program history.
